Summary:
Hylaeus (Euprosopis) species. (a) Female of H. (E.) elegans. The species is known to nest in the ground and this female carries some mud on its back. Photo: Laurence Sanders. (b) Female of H. (E.) husela, a close relative of H. elegans from the Top End, NT, distinguished by having four yellow stripes on the scutum. Photo: Bernhard Jacobi. (c) Male of H. (E.) honestus. Its yellow-marked mandibles and labrum and lack of bluish iridescence on the abdomen distinguish it from another common species, H. violaceus. Photo: Marc Newman.
