Summary:
Hylaeus (Pseudhylaeus) species. (a) Female of an unnamed member of the mirandus species-group showing relatively long proboscis and the greatly enlarged maxillary palpi. (b) Male of H. (P.) albozebratus. This is one of several species that are unusual in their extensive pale markings, presumably an adaptation to the whitish flowers they visit.
