Summary:
Some of the American opossums exhibit ‘big-bang’ reproduction. The short-tailed opossums (Monodelphis spp.) are one such genus, but only some species within the genus adopt this life-history strategy. It is uncertain why it is not exhibited by all members of the genus. Source: Thiago Semedo.
