Summary:
Distributional limits of the main Te Urewera rusa deer populations in 1955, 1973 and 2018. The distributions for 1955 and 2018 outline the extent of breeding populations (hinds present). The 1973 distribution is largely based upon deer culler records, but it is sometimes unclear whether these included hinds as well as stags. (This figure was constructed with input from many people, including R.K.J. Allen, P.R.S. Chalmers, and the late H. Vipond and P.J. McKelvey.)
