Summary:
Pointing posture. The extraordinary posture of the magpies while vocalising, sitting on a branch above the level of an eagle, pointing downwards, a combination of activities very difficult to maintain. Note that any forward position normally still involves an angle of the spinal vertebrae in the neck and back as shown in the upper excerpt. Instead, in the beak pointing posture the line is straight. An arriving magpie looks at the posture and follows the direction of body posture and beak and finds the eagle.
