Photomicrograph showing typical microscopic pattern of pyogranulomatous panniculitis within the subcutaneous fat of a Tasmanian devil (Sarcophilus harrisii) with cutaneous mycobacteriosis. Neutrophils and foamy macrophages surround a degenerating fat cell, within which there are mycobacterial organisms (not visible – see Fig. 22.3).
