Summary:
Oral cytology from a sub-adult short-beaked echidna (Tachyglossus aculeatus) with prehension difficulty. The presence of sheets of cocci and high numbers of budding yeasts and fungal hyphae are abnormal. The yeasts are typical of Candida spp. Diff-Quik stain (×1000). Photo: Lydia Tong
