Summary:
Green Triangle or Tailed Jay Butterfly and grub (Graphium agamemnon; images courtesy Steve and Alison Pearson, Airlie Beach). This butterfly utilises a wide range of the Annonaceae as food plants from the genera Annona, Desmos, Fitzalania (Meiogyne), Haplostichanthus (Polyalthia), Goniothalamus, Melodorum, Miliusa and Polyalthia/Monoon [see 12]. The species name Agamemnon commemorates a great king of ancient Greece who led the Trojan War forces. He was said to have died tragically, murdered by his wife and/or her lover.
