In Australia the term ‘Pawpaw’ generally refers to the fruit of the Asian Carica papaya (Caricaceae), although this common name has been used for various American Annonaceae, i.e. the North American Paw Paw Tree (Asimina triloba) and the Long-leaf Paw Paw (Asimina longifolia).
