Summary:
The Australian or Giant Pepper Vine, Piper hederaceum (formerly P. novae-hollandiae), is an impressive climber that is widespread along the eastern coastline, ranging from the Cape York Peninsula to southern New South Wales. Although there appears to be significant gaps in current knowledge regarding the pollination of Australian Piperaceae, it is known that the miniscule flowers emit a scent to attract pollinators, which are thought to be gall midges [209].
