Summary: 
There are several rare endemic of native waterlilies that are found in a few remote inland areas of northern Queensland: Nymphaea georginae (pictured, extends to the Northern Territory), N. jacobsii and N. vaporalis. Equally uncommon are N. kimberleyensis, N. ondina and N. lukei of the Western Australian tropics – as well as the rare N. alexii of the Gulf of Carpentaria and N. noelae of Cape York (see Appendix for distribution details) (images courtesy Russell Cumming).
