Summary:
Rare plant display at Flecker Botanic Gardens, Cairns illustrating Wollemi Pine and rare rainforest Huperzia ferns. Botanic gardens make an invaluable contribution to the propagation of species that would never otherwise gain a wider audience, as well as the rescue of irreplaceable genetic stock. This work holds the survival of innumerable unique species in the balance as their precious ecological niches are progressively, and irreparably, altered. Indeed, special collections of rare plants are the only chance most of us will ever get to appreciate their existence.
