Summary:
Recent clearing in Daintree rainforest for urban purposes. Not so long ago this land was prime cassowary habitat in relatively undisturbed forest. There are numerous rare species of conservation concern in this area, with the block directly across the road being part of the Rainforest Rescue buy-back program. It is unlikely that any floral survey was undertaken before this level of clearing commenced.
