Summary:
On the Atherton Tablelands, a group of timber cutters dropped a massive 3 million super-feet of cedar logs (which float very well) into the Barron River, to send them to the coast for shipment. Unfortunately the flooded river catapulted the cargo over the thousand-foot drop of the Barron Falls (pictured) near Cairns. Little was salvageable as the precious trees were smashed into a pulp [9].
