Summary:
Sarcomelicope simplicifolia subsp. simplicifolia, herbarium sample collected from Lord Howe Island (specimen collected and imaged by John Game). Known as the Scrub Ash or Yellow Aspen, this tree is native to eastern Australia and the Pacific Islands. It belongs to a small genus with six species, the majority of which are found in New Caledonia, i.e. Sarcomelicope argyrophylla, S. glauca, S. dogniensis, S. leicarpa and S. sarcococca.
