Summary:
Musky Rat Kangaroo (Hypsiprymnodon moschatus pictured) orphans at Wildlife Rescue. This unique primitive small kangaroo is only found in the Wet Tropics rainforest. They represent an early stage of macropod evolution from an arboreal possum-like ancestor and are extremely important ‘forest gardeners’ (image courtesy Helen Douglas, BatReach Wildlife Rescue, Kuranda).
