Native species of frogs on Pacific Islands.According to Frost (2016), New Guinea and Solomon Islands Ceratobatrachidae are members of the genus Cornufer; those species in the Philippines are Platymantis. Frost took this nomenclatural action because molecular data (Pyron and Wiens 2011; Brown et al. 2015) show these groups to be paraphyletic and placement of all species in Cornufer creates a monophyletic clade, which is the goal of our current phylogenetic classification. 1Previously in the genus Platymantis. 2Previously in the genus Batrachylodes. 3Previously in the genus Ceratobatrachus. 4Previously in the genus Discodeles. 5Previously known as Palmatorappia solomonis. 6Previously known as Platymantis guppyi, hence a homonym and renamed.
