Summary: 
(A) Components of a strainer used for separating 1st and 2nd instars. Container ‘a’ (green tape) is placed half-way into container ‘b’ (red tape), then the lid ‘c’ is placed on container ‘a’. (B) An assembled strainer with a cockroach harbourage inside. (C) The 1st and 2nd instars passed through the strainer after adding CO2 through the screened hole on the lid.
