Summary: 
Preliminary results of 2D DEM simulations of fully open connected fractures at two mine sites. Depth of cover, panel width and mining height are similar at each site, while the geology varies significantly. Black fractures are connected to the workings (drainage zone); green fractures are not connected. This research is ongoing and additional study of fracture connectivity for the mine on the top is being conducted.
