Summary:
Relative provisioning of seven ecosystem services from four vegetation treatments based on analogous measured parameters. Total drainage, evapotranspiration and the change in storage were used as ecosystem service analogues for groundwater recharge, daytime evaporative cooling and stormwater retention respectively. N removal efficiency, soil NO3– and NH4+ storage, and percentage total Kjeldahl nitrogen (N) in plant tissue were used as ecosystem service analogues for N removal, soil N retention and plant N uptake respectively. All data were normalised to the vegetation treatment that had the maximum mean for each measured parameter. The spatial arrangement of ecosystem services is arbitrary, thus polygon shapes are not unique to these normalised data. Linear interpolation between and across ecosystem services is inappropriate in this context. Reproduced with the permission of Springer Nature from Nocco et al. (2016).
