Summary: 
Extent of area burnt in the 2019–20 fires across the ranges of 26 062 plant species.All analyses were limited to fires within bioregions in the southern half of the continent. Plant geographical ranges were sourced from both cleaned occurrence records from the Australian Virtual Herbarium (https://avh.chah.org.au/) and species distribution modelling (see Andrew et al. 2021) or range mapping conducted for listing advice under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) for threatened taxa. The spread of values provided reflects the use of these different range size estimates.
