Summary:
Reconstruction by Peter Schouten of Obdurodon tharalkooschild used as the cover art for the November 2013 issue of the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology. Included in the cover art is an image of the first lower molar of this giant toothed Platypus and one of the fossil turtles from Riversleigh. This enormous Miocene toothed Platypus may have been more than 1 m in length and thus at least twice as long as the living Platypus.
