Summary:
Many carnivorous marsupials live mostly solitary lives once they have left the nest, until it is time to mate, but in many species, young still have plenty of time for play, such as these Little Long-tailed Dunnarts (Sminthopsis dolichura). Such bouts are crucial for the development of strength and hunting capabilities that will be needed if they are to survive as independent adults. Source: Jiri Lochman.
