Summary:
(a) Remnant fragments of World Heritage Listed Gondwanan rainforest in eastern Australia are the favoured habitat of (b) the Endangered Black-tailed Dusky Antechinus (Antechinus arktos). Global warming is likely causing the cloud forest to retract, posing an extinction threat to this carnivorous marsupial, one of Australia’s rarest mammals, which was only discovered in 2014.
