Summary:
A, Carolling and B, quiet song (warbling), the major sound types in the magpie repertoire. The carolling call shows strong energy even at 5 kHz; the grey elements indicate noise rather than clear sounds. The calls are strongest at 1.5–2 kHz and some individual calls even have harmonics (the parallel lines within the same column).
