Summary:
Whimpering/crying by a fledgling at the time of dispersal. A most heart-wrenching sound producing even harmonics and containing bell-like sounds. The calls are very faint (at ∼45–50 dB a metre away from its origin) and are the most high-pitched harmonic sounds that I have recorded in tawny frogmouths. It can be performed for many hours (with intervals of a few seconds).
