Summary: 
Oikopleura, a common genus of Appendicularia (larvacean). The animal itself appears pale green in this image, and the major filters of the mucous house are pink. TH – Tadpole head, TT = Tadpole tail, F – filter the paddling motion of the tail generates a current so that water passes through the filters. There is also an escape hole so that the tadpole can abandon the house quickly in threatened (Image: Dr Fabien Lombard, Observatoire Océanographique de Villefranche, France).
