Fig. 9.2. External gross anatomy of the three camelid stomach compartments. The three major compartments are C1, C2 and C3. C1 is divided into cranial and caudal sacs; the ventral regions of these two sacs are sacculated by primary and secondary grooves. C2 is not sacculated. The final one-fifth of C3 has true gastric and pyloric glands.
