Summary:
Murray cod length–age relationship from Anderson et al. [123] (solid black line), with data from Harris and Rowland [309] (black diamond), Rowland [37] (white circle) and Gooley [312] (cross). If we want to estimate the age of a fish, we draw a horizontal line from the length (total length from snout to end of the tail fin) until it meets the solid black line. A vertical line drawn from that point down until it meets the age axis will give us the approximate age in years. The graph shows an example of a 1000 mm fish (1 m), which I estimate to be 16–17 years old.
