Summary:
(A) Larval cloning in the crown-of-thorns starfish. i. Fully formed bipinnaria larva showing the complete digestive tract with the anterior mouth (m) and posterior stomach (s). Cloning occurs by a split across the body to make two portions that regenerate to make two complete larvae. ii. Anterior portion clone. iii. Posterior portion clone.
