Summary:
(top) Spotted Nightjar, Eurostopodus argus, and (bottom) Australian Logrunner, Orthonyx temminckii: a comparison of two very different wing shapes. The long wing of a nightjar has the primaries extending far beyond the secondaries when the wing is closed. In contrast, the short wing of a logrunner shows hardly any primaries beyond the secondaries when closed.
