Summary:
Shaded areas on the red breast and cap of the male were painted with Winsor Red Deep. A weak wash of Scarlet Lake was used on the forehead of the female and a soft grey-brown wash was applied on the back using Sepia and Neutral Tint. Once the wash was dry, the area was worked over using the same mix to do the feather detail using a No. 0 Taklon Script brush. The male was now as good as completed, having had the legs and feet detailed as well as the wing and under tail area.
